Tasting Notes
ELDRIDGE ESTATE Wines
2007
Eldridge Estate Chardonnay
The wine is very bright in
the glass with a slight green tint on the edge. The nose is nutty
with a hint of peach. The palate has a creamy texture, good acid
balance with citrus and a hint of melon. It has a nice zing on the
finish.
Food match : Freshly shucked oysters or wild mushroom
risotto.
The grapes were whole bunch pressed using a gentle air bag press
with carbon dioxide cover to retain the varietal fruit character.
The juice was fermented in 80% new French Oak with some solids
before being moved to 30% new oak for a further 9 months.
